Dame Margaret Natalie Smith Cross, DBE, (born December 28, 1934 in Ilford, Essex), better known as Maggie Smith, occurs as British film, stage, & television actress. She received many honours throughout her career, culminating around the DBE in 1990 at age 56.
She began her career at a Oxford Playhouse Theatre by having Frank Shelley, and number 1 appeared on the moving picture screen within 1956. Around 1969 she won the Academy Award for Best Actress for her role in The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie. She was likewise awarded a 1978 Oscar for Better Supporting Female Actress for her role inside California Suite. Now she is probably better known when Prof Minerva McGonagall in the Harry Potter movies.
She has been married twice. She married Sir Robert Stephens on 29 June 1967 at Greenwich Registry office & experienced Two babies by having him. It were Chris Larkin (b. 1967) and Toby Stephens (b. 1969) and two were born at Middlesex Hospital. However she divorced him in May 6 1974. She so remarried to Beverly Cross on 23 August 1975 at Guilford Registry office. There are no babies were born to a two & the marriage ended within his demise in 20 March 1998.
